Northwest Little League 2020 Season

Northwest Little League Press Release

Northwest Little League 2020 Season

Organizing the 2020 season for Northwest Little League has been a daunting task. The Board of Trustees has been meeting weekly to make critical decisions about planning a baseball season for our kids.

All of the NWLL Board of Trustee’s decisions are based on the directives of Governor Bullock and the State of Montana Health Department, the protocol set in place by the Butte Silver Bow Health Department and Parks & Recreation Department, guidance from Little League International, and from our Board’s commitment to provide a safe season for all players and volunteers.

Under the State of Montana Phase I, we are allowed to have practices only and must keep our group size to 10 people or less. When Gov. Bullock allows Phase II to be implemented, we will begin scheduling games with a 50-person maximum allowed at the field.

Please read and review with your kid(s) the NWLL Safety Plan as approved by our county health department for specific procedures to keep us all safe.

Division Summary

  • T-Ball has been cancelled for the 2020 season.

As everyone who has ever attended a T-ball game understands, we cannot assure that the 4, 5, & 6-year-old players can remain at an acceptable social distance from each other. All the players rushing to a hit baseball and fighting for control in a large pile is normally so fun to watch but unacceptable this season.

  • 7-8 Minor teams will start practices the week of June 1st.
  • 9-10 Major teams will start practices the week of May 18.
  • 11-12 Major teams will start practices the week of May 18.
  • 13-16 Senior teams will start practices the week of May 18.

Important Practice Protocols

  • All practices will be staggered with 15 minutes in-between practice sessions. It is mandatory that players are picked up from practice on time to meet our acceptable group number requirements.
  • Each player will be required to bring their own individually labeled drink.
  • No food or candy allowed.
  • Absolutely no sunflower seeds are allowed on the field complexes at any time!
  • No team treats will be allowed this season.
  • Refer to the NWLL Safety Plan for all of our Safety Protocols

Refunds

  • T-Ball Division - Refunds will be issued starting the week of May 18 through our registration portal. Any players paying by check or cash will have a check sent to your residence. You do not need to request a refund for T-ball players.
  • 7-8 Minor Division - Refunds must be requested before June 1st
  • 9-10 Major Division – Refunds must be requested before May 18th
  • 11-12 Major Division – Refunds must be requested before May 18th
  • 13-16 Senior Division – Refunds must be requested before May 18th
